The Fujitsu Software Operation Panel is installed with certain Fujitsu scanners. The purpose of the software is to monitor scan counts for various parts of the scanner. This includes 1) Total number of pages scanned 2) The number of scans for the cleaning cycle. Once the cycle limit is reached, a message is sent to the scan operator that the scanner needs cleaning. 3) The number of scans on various consumable rollers. Once these maximum counts have reached, the user will be notified that the rollers need replacing. The scan operator should NOT disregard this warning, as image quality will deteriorate, and/or there could be more jams/multi feeds. And 4) The SOP will notified the scan operator if an assist roller needs to be replaced. NOTE: Replacing the assist roller requires a Fujitsu tech to do this work as not only does the roller need replacing, but it also needs to be calibrated. The SOP may also allow for changes in various scanner settings like changing the cleaning cycle, setting of alarms, etc.
